As a lover of books and written communication, I decided to follow my heart and pursue a degree in English. My family, friends, and co-workers baffled at the idea because no one can do anything exceptional with an English degree, except teach. Of course, many English majors do plenty more than teach, so I held my head high and applied. With a BA in English, I can write, edit, proof, and work in other fields that deal with communications, public relations, and marketing.
I do not regret my decision. I, now, attend university as a graduate student in pursuit of an M.A. in Women’s Studies. My dream job is something that combines my love to help others and my love to read and write.
Aside from my educational pursuits, I like to spend time with my husband and our two tabby cats. I am a passionate coffee and hot tea drinker, and nothing goes better with those delicious beverages than a few good cookies and a book. I think I shall whip up a cup now!
