Favorite Quotes

These are some of my favorite quotes taken from people, novels, or films. Some of them give me inspiration and confidence while others are quotes from my favorite works. The quote by Stephen King is one of my most favorite, and I must agree with him. I don’t care for adverbs, although it is difficult, at times, to avoid them.

“The road to hell is paved with adverbs”.~Stephen King

“An artist is someone who has learned to trust himself.” ~Copying Beetoven

“All glory comes from daring to begin.” ~Eugene F. Ware

“Don’t be afraid to dream a little bit bigger, darling.” ~Inception

“No small art is it to sleep: for its sake one must stay awake all day.”~Friedrick Nietysche

“Don’t tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass.” ~Anton Chekhov

“Magic isn’t just spells and potions…Your badge, it’s just a star…it has power because you believe it does.” ~Practical Magic

“It is happy for you that you possess the talent of flattering with delicacy. May I ask whether these pleasing attentions proceed from the impulse of the moment, or are the result of previous study?” ~Pride and Prejudice

“From this day forth you must be a stranger to one of your parents. Your mother will never see you again if you do NOT marry Mr. Collins, and I will never see you again if you do.” ~Pride and Prejudice.

“Frailty, thy name is woman.” ~Hamlet

“To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, ’tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come… .” ~Hamlet

“For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.” ~Romeo and Juliet

“If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber’d here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to ‘scape the serpent’s tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends”. ~A Mid Summer Night’s Dream
